Letter from Fr Eugen in Romania

Following on from what was said last Sunday the letter below received by Father Mike speaks for itself.

Our parish priest Eugen Lucaci has asked us to write to you about our work. We are a religious community who from 1992 have accommodated abandoned children, in dangerous situations, with family problems. At the moment we have 29 children from 4-18 years old. The children are entrusted to us by Child Protection but the State contributes only 97 Lei per month (about 22 Euro a month). We receive financial help from the religious congregations of Srs Benedettine of Divine Providence and some benefactors from Italy. With the economic crisis, the necessary help lessened however we try to give them what they need to live a dignified life.

We turn to you to help us with possibilities you have. The children require most: materials for school, shoes, clothes, foodstuffs like oil, rice, pasta, sugar, flour that are fundamental for the children's nourishment and food in tins (tuna, vegetable, preserved meat etc).
We express some of our needs but anything you do for us is always welcome. We remember you in our prayers together with the children. We are sure that the Father rewards with his thanks for your generosity because he says, "That which you do to this little one, you do to me." And this we believe. With regards and gratitude we bless you,
Sister Giuseppina and community, Oituz, Romania
